Dr.G.S.K Model United Nations Conference 2021

In todays era of globalization augmenting skills of expository, persuasiveness, debating, and negotiating have become obligatory, on the part of educational institutions, to provide a plethora of opportunities to the young minds to cultivate and nourishingenuity, leadership skill, mental agility, confidence, and commitment to the cause in the young generation. Look beyond the horizon, thats where the opportunities are as standing in the vista Dr.G.S.K endeavors to rear the future young stuffed global citizens to seize their dreams beyond the national borders.

Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation activity in which participants assume the role of national ambassadors to debate and seek to solve global issues. Dr.G.S.K accomplished yet another milestone by successfully organizing the fourth Inter SchoolMUN 2021held on the school campus on 22 January 2021.

The MUN saw the participation of 33 delegates from VI -XII grades,who represented various countries. The students- K.C.Thamizhalagan, D.Ajay, Divya,C.Sanjay,S.M. Deepadharshini, and N.Sivabalan of XI and XII grade ,adorned the position of Chair and Rapporteur in the committees of MUN. The Students experienced exhilarating sessions of discussion on burning topics like Impact of COVID 19 and Awareness about Green Earth. This half- a- day long session imparted the students, the art of political analysis and problem-solving. They learnt how to originate a consensus and recommended a solution for the agenda at hand.

Mrs.Suganthi, the HOD of Language Dept. ,Mr.Achayalingam, HOD of Humanities Dept., and Mr.Gurumurthy, HOD of Science Dept., shared their verdicts about the delegates discussion. The Vice Principal energized the future global citizens through his speech and appreciated them. The Principal fortified the delegates of MUN and asked them to know the significance of global platforms. She cherished the childrens contribution and commitment. She acknowledged the efforts of the Humanities Department and congratulated them for the success of the conference.

The Principal, HODs, and ACODs felicitated the participants with immense pride and pleasure. Gratitude paints little smiley faces on everything it touches Ms.Vijayalakshmi, ACOD of Pre-Primary and Primary, proposed the vote of thanks. Dr.G.S.K MUN 2021 has created a lifetime memory and a wise experience for all the young diplomats.
