Dr. GSK Model United Nations - 2024

Dr. G.S.Kalyanasundaram Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Pazhaya Gudalur, hosted its 9^th edition of the Model United Nations (MUN) on October 24, 2024, transforming its campus into a hub of diplomacy, dialogue, and global awareness. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the Honorary Consul of Myanmar, Prof. J. Ranganathan, as the chief guest, whose words of wisdom set an inspiring tone for the day's proceedings.

This distinguished event welcomed student delegations from various schools across Mayiladuthurai and surrounding areas, who came together to represent nations, debate key issues, and advocate for solutions to global challenges. The program began with a cordial welcome address by the Principal, Mr. Ganesan, highlighting the significance of fostering diplomatic skills and global citizenship among young learners.

Participants, skillfully embodying the roles of international delegates, addressed critical global issues, demonstrating exceptional insight, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities. Under the expert guidance of the Chair and Rapporteur, resolutions on several pressing issues were debated, refined, and passed, emphasizing the students dedication to creating a brighter future.

The event concluded with the presentation of mementos and certificates to all participants in appreciation of their commitment and enthusiasm. Mrs R Thaiyalnayaki,HOD of Humanities Department rendered the vote of thanks expressing her gratitude to all the contributors, followed by the National Anthem, marking the end of a memorable day at Dr. G.S.K Matric School. This annual MUN not only broadened students understanding of international affairs but also reinforced the values of leadership and responsible citizenship.
