Philately Exhibition  - 2023

      "Inaugurating the philately program is a significant step forward in promoting educational and cultural enrichment at the school. It is expected to ignite a newfound interest in stamp collection among the students, bridging the gap between generations and preserving this cherished hobby for years to come." 

      On  26.9.23, the new philately  inauguration program took place and The event was graced by various dignitaries, including the school's Principal, Mr. Ganesan, and Rotarian  P.S. Sheshadri, a renowned philatelic instructor and senior philatelist hailing from South India and the chief guest Mr. H. Aseef Iqbal.

      During the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Ganesan, the school's Principal, emphasized the significance of stamp collection in broadening students' horizons and stressed the need for students to embrace this traditional hobby.

      Rotarian P.S. Sheshadri, the distinguished philatelic instructor, shared his expertise and insights on stamp collection with the students. His engaging presentation made it clear that philately is not just a pastime but a source of knowledge and cultural enrichment that explores the students in a fascinating world of stamps.

      The highlight of the event was the presence of Mr. H. Aseef Iqbal, an MBA and the Superintendent of the Post Office, Mayiladuthurai Division and  he spoke passionately about the significance of stamp collection and briefed about how mobile phones dominate our attention. He emphasized that stamp collection offers a valuable alternative to screen time, helping students to develop patience, research skills, and an appreciation for history.

      The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the school's  philately incharge , Mrs. M. Ranjani. She expressed her gratitude to all the attendees and emphasized her commitment to nurture the passion for stamp collection among the students of Dr. GSK Matric Higher Secondary School.
