Dr. G.S.K. Social Academy

Its regular to our interact club to visit the orphanages on special occasions and contribute to the needy the possible on behalf of the school. The previous years they initiated MUN, Model United Nations and this year participated in MUN at Dr.G.S.K Matric.Hr.Sec.School,Pazhay Gudalur.

On 19th and 20th of January 2019, Eleven members of the interact club participated RI District 3232; Interact RYLA Step Ahead Camp at SRI RAM Engineering College, Veppampattu, Thiruvallur District. 150 students participated in the camp. They students are trained in Leadership, the session taken by Rtn. Murali Rao, our CEO. They were also imbibed with thoughts how to keep themselves to fit physically and mentally how to achieve their aim, how to score more and given knowledge on psychology. Among the 150 participants 20 members were nominated for the Best Rylarian Award and 4 winners and 4 runners were selected.

It was a happy moment our student G. Venkatesan XI C had been announced The best Rylarian Award one among the four winners. It was a greatly honored and pleasing moment for us to receive the Team Winner award for the team talents, where our students (Green Team) exposed themselves and won more prizes in the various competitions conducted during the camp. Hats off to the participants.

The chief Objectives of Social Academy are as follows:

• To equip social workers with generalist knowledge, values, and skills and to prepare competent professionals for entry level social work practice with diverse systems within a global context.
• To prepare social workers who understand our diverse culture (which values social and economic justice while also respecting and appreciating diversity).
• Prepare students with strategies of advocacy and social change that advance social and economic justice.
• Foster the student's social work identity including professional use of supervision and consultation, self-awareness, and an appreciation for the profession's history and values.
